Fort Lauderdale, Florida (May21, 2022) - South Florida photographer/artist Frank k Polanco is Las Olas Capital Arts featured artist May through August 2022. Las Olas Capital Arts is one of the principal philanthropic missions of Las Olas Capital Advisors. Their mission is to lift up and support local artists by providing a venue in which to showcase their work. Each chosen artist will have artwork exhibited in their offices for a duration of four month.
A photographer, multimedia artist, curator, traveler, community activist, philanthropist white a great passion for the arts but with a bigger passion in animal welfare. A native of Puerto Rico, Frank often approaches photography as a documentarian with a twist. Most of his images are taken in real life situations sometimes with an altered approach. Viewers are invited to participate in moments passed, moments they will never partake in because he was the only one there to witness the scene. His audience may be able to live in an instant the moment captured; an instant perhaps hard to be replicated.
One of Frank’s latest achievements includes the selection of his photo titled ‘SAVE ME’, a picture of a turtle he captured at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton. This image was selected by The United Nations Environment Programme and the Climate Museum of New York and it was printed on a eco friendly- biodegradable flag. The flag became part of The Flag Project 2022, a public art exhibit hosted and presented by and at The Rockefeller Center in New York. Frank’s flag flew high throughout the entire month of April together with another one hundred and ninety two other selected work of arts. As part of this years exhibit focusing on what really matters — "Only One Earth” the theme of the exhibit.
Frank is honored to be -the 17th artist Las Olas Capital Arts host under their wonderful program. For this exhibit ‘Retrospective’ Frank is showing some of his manipulated digital photography printed on canvas as well as framed photo prints from a series he calls Feathers. Some of the images have been turned into home goods using mixed media. Throughout the exhibit you will also capture a glimpse at some of his pour paints from a series called Global Warming as well as some of his vintage drawings from his series Emotions.
