Fort Lauderdale, Florida (May 26, 2022) - South Florida photographer /multimedia artist and philanthropist Frank Polanco will be exhibiting his art installation ‘The Valley of Decisions’ at The Broward Art Guild 3280 NE 32nd Street Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 during their June 2022 art exhibit titled ‘PRIDE Legends, Life & Love” The exhibit calls to unite the spectrum that is the LGBTQIA+ community. The exhibit runs June 1, 2022 - June 24th, 2022 with a free public reception Saturday, June 4th 4:30 pm-8:30 pm

The Valley of Decision is a controversial and provocative art installation inspired and created after the unfortunate tragic massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. This unfortunate hate crime ignited a fire that trigger the artist to create this piece, evoking a massage of consciousness to stop hate and homophobia.

However, The Valley of Decision goes even deeper, it also represents those gay communities that are less fortunate in lands far away, in countries where homosexuality is considered to be sinful. Places where gay voices and lifestyles must remain silent. Places where men can be flogged for lesser acts such as kissing. Muslim men engaging in homosexual sex can be stoned to death.

The book represents the basis of the religion under which these killing acts are conducted. The knife stabs the book symbolizing the cruelty while the melted rainbow color wax represents the bloodshed and suffering of those gays killed by evil men, the soldiers.

Ali Fazeli Monfared, a 20-year-old gay Iranian man, was allegedly killed in an “honor killing” by some of his male family members after they found out he was gay, according to an LGBTQ rights group in Iran and Turkey.

Although our socie

is still battling personal rights in defense and education we are far more blessed than those living in places where homosexuality is considered illegal.

Frank is a photographer, multimedia artist, curator, traveler, community activist, and philanthropist with a great passion for the arts but a bigger passion for animal welfare. Frank is native of Puerto Rico and a long-term resident of South Florida via New York.
